Photo Araf is a photo agency established on voluntary partnership basis, with the aim of cultivating the tradition of news and documentary photography also in our region – a tradition, which the esteemed photo agencies around the globe have been trying to carry on, from the 20th century until today.
The Agency's photographers target to re-create and re-construct their subjects, in their own techniques and styles.
The photographers affiliated with Photo Araf Agency do not concentrate solely on "grandiose" and "headline-grabbing" topics. They also indulge in the universal mission of a visual narration on the humanity's
ceaseless odyssey of existence - in a quest to extract the unique, exceptional and enigmatic images, nestled into the tedious facets of the ordinary daily life.
Photo Araf was founded on January 2006 in Istanbul by Burcu Goknar, Coskun Asar, Goksin Varan and Haluk Cobanoglu.
